You don’t have to figure this out on your own -  I’ll be with you, every step of the way.

Why does smoking still have a hold on me?

There’s a question almost every smoker asks at some point:

“Why am I still doing this… when I know exactly what it’s doing to me?”

You're definately not lacking awareness and it’s not that you don’t care.

It’s that smoking isn’t just a habit, it’s a pattern your brain and body have learned extremely well.

Over time, it becomes wired into your routines, your emotional responses, your identity and even your sense of self. So the urge to smoke doesn’t feel like a conscious choice… it feels automatic.

Part of the confusion comes from what smoking seems to do.

Many people believe cigarettes help them relax. And in the moment, it can feel that way. But biologically, nicotine is a stimulant, it increases heart rate and activates the body’s stress response.

So why the sense of relief?

Because of the nicotine withdrawal cycle.

Book a Connection Call

As nicotine levels drop between cigarettes, the body begins to experience tension and a low-level unease. When you smoke, that discomfort is temporarily relieved.

And the brain learns:

“This cigarette relaxed me.”

But what’s actually happening is this:

The cigarette is relieving the tension that previous cigarettes created.

So smoking becomes a loop of tension and relief, repeated throughout the day.

At the same time, your brain links smoking to specific moments:  after food, with a coffee, during stress, while taking a break. These become automatic triggers, running without much conscious thought.

Even the calming effect people feel often comes from something else entirely: the slow, controlled breathing that happens while smoking.

Which means your body already knows how to relax... it’s just learned to associate that feeling with cigarettes.

And anything that’s been learned that deeply…

can be unlearned and rewired.

When The Approach Is Right - Quitting Feels Easier

Most stop smoking approaches focus on just one piece of the puzzle.

❌ Willpower alone asks you to fight the urge… but not understand it.
❌ Nicotine replacements reduce withdrawal… but often leave the habit intact.
❌ Single-session hypnosis can be powerful… but without follow-through, and background support, the old patterns can quietly return.

Because smoking isn’t just about nicotine.

It’s a combination of:

  • learned habits & ingrained patterns
  • emotional regulation (especially around connection & belonging)
  • beliefs about what smoking does for you
  • and the identity of being “a smoker”

If only one of these is addressed, the others can keep the pattern going.

That’s why people often stop for a while… and then find themselves returning to it.

When the right elements come together — habit, mind, and identity —
the pattern shifts, big time.

And stopping smoking becomes far more straightforward than people expect.

Introducing - 'Smoking Rewired'

This is where Smoking Rewired comes in.

This is a structured, one-to-one process that works with how smoking has been learned in your mind and body.

Because smoking leaves clues. It follows patterns.

So instead of relying on willpower, we focus on changing those patterns by:

  • bringing the habit out of autopilot and into awareness
  • helping your body learn to settle without cigarettes
  • updating the beliefs that make smoking feel necessary
  • and shifting your identity towards being a non-smoker

This isn't about white knuckling those urges.

It’s about reaching a point where smoking just stops feeling relevant.

Where the pull fades…
and CHOOSING not to smoke feels natural.

The SIX Phase Process

A structured, one-to-one journey that works with your mind, body, and identity, so smoking no longer feels like something you need.

Phase 1 — Connection & Assessment…

We begin by understanding your story, your smoking pattern, triggers, beliefs, and what’s been keeping the habit in place.
This helps me creates a personalised map of change for you.

Phase 2 — Awareness & Habit Disruption…

Bit by bit you step out of autopilot through guided homework.
You will soon see the habit differently as aspect of it becomes more visible, interruptible, and far less automatic.

Phase 3 — Somatic Regulation & Learning the Skill of Self-Hypnosis…

Restore the mind/body connection through EFT.  Somatic regulation skills, cognitive awareness, and self-hypnosis become your new foundation for calm and control.

Phase 4 — Deep Hypnotherapy & Belief Rewiring…

Here we work with the subconscious patterns that originally caused the smoking identity.
Beliefs that once made smoking feel necessary begin to shift, and new, more accurate understandings take their place.

Phase 5 — Aversion & Pattern Interruption…

The appeal of smoking begins to dissolve with a very specific type of hypnotherapy.
Your mind and body start to respond differently, turning away rather than reaching for it.

Phase 6 — Identity Repatterning…

Through values & identity based coaching, you step into being a non-smoker through a natural shift in how you see yourself, your choices, and your future.

Why This Works (and where hypnosis fits)

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful part of stopping smoking, but on its own, it has limitations.

Large-scale reviews, including a Cochrane Review (2019), have found that the evidence for hypnotherapy as a standalone treatment is mixed, with outcomes varying widely between individuals.

This review points to the fact that smoking isn’t maintained by just one factor.

It’s a combination of:

  • habit loops
  • emotional regulation
  • learned beliefs
  • environmental triggers
  • and identity

That's why leading guidance such as NICE (UK) recommends combined approaches — where behavioural support is delivered alongside psychological or physiological interventions.

In other words:

The more aspects of the habit that are addressed, the more likely change is to last.

This is where Smoking Rewired is different.

Rather than relying on hypnosis alone, it combines:

  • behavioural disruption
  • cognitive and belief work
  • nervous system regulation
  • emotional attunement (more important than you realise!)
  • and identity-level change

Hypnotherapy is still a central part of the process,
but it’s used in a way that reinforces and integrates the wider change.

So instead of trying to “override” the habit…

we systematically unpick and rewire the system that keeps it in place using a wide range of interventions.

Who is This Process For (and who is it NOT for)?

This work is designed for people who feel ready for change, even if part of them feels unsure.

You don’t need to feel 100% confident.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.

But it does help if you:

  • genuinely want to stop smoking (for you, not just for someone else)
  • are open to a structured, multi-session process
  • are willing to engage with what’s driving the habit — not just the behaviour itself
  • can commit to small, consistent steps between sessions

This tends to work best for people who are curious about their patterns, and willing to work with their mind rather than fight against it.

This approach may not be the right fit if you’re:

  • looking for a one-session, quick-fix solution
  • hoping someone will “do it to you” without your involvement
  • not ready to make any changes to routines or habits
  • feeling under significant external pressure to stop, but not personally motivated

This is a collaborative process.

You bring your willingness and honesty.
I bring the structure, the method, and the support.

And together, we create the conditions for change to happen in a way that actually lasts.

The Process...

We begin with a short 15-minute connection call (free).
This gives us a chance to speak, understand what you’re looking for, and make sure this approach feels like the right fit for you.

From there, we move into a more in-depth 90-minute assessment session, (followed by an additional hour of preparation time on my own) where I design your personalised treatment plan.

Price:  £187.50

The 90 minute assessment is where we map out your smoking pattern in detail including your triggers, habits, beliefs, and the role smoking plays in your life, and also a bit about your history.  This is so the work that follows is precise, relevant, and tailored to you.  You will see how beautifully this unfolds.

🌿 Your Personalised Programme

Your treatment will then follow a structured, multi-session process, designed specifically around you.

While every plan is bespoke, it will typically include:

  • Session One:  regulation and preparation work to help your body feel safe and supported.  This is done via Emotional Freedom Technique plus hypnotherapy.  After this session your behviour change homework will begin via a bespoke GPT and WhatsApp support.
  • Session Two:  a longer deeper hypnotherapy session to address underlying patterns and beliefs.  During this session we utilise regression, inner child work, empty chair therapy, re-decision therapy, integration therapy and visualisation.
  • Session Three:  this is a behavioural repatterning hypnosis session including parts work and aversion therapy to shift your response to cigarettes.  After this session most people feel a certainty that cigarettes have no role in their life anymore.
  • Session Four:  this is an integration session where we reflect on all your changes, carry out any troubleshooting and set you up for work that is to come next.
  • Session Five - Twelve:  These are powerful coaching/talk therapy session utilising my North Star Method to help you understand your value system and to allow your new identy to emerge.   Very soon you'll see how this new identity becomes knitted into the fabric of who you are, making smoking completely outdated and irrelevant to you as a person.

This entire program allows change to happen gradually, naturally, and sustainably — rather than relying on pressure or willpower.

An Attuned Approach

Alongside the structure of the programme, a key part of this work is the therapeutic relationship itself.

I will approach our work together as someone who is deeply responsive to your needs, your situation, the context of your life and your pace.  This relational aspect of the program provides the foundation for change to occur, making it feel less 'clinical'.

Some Questions You May Have...

Who Am I?

Sally Garozzo is a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in deep, identity-level change.

Her work goes beyond surface-level habits, focusing instead on the underlying patterns that drive behaviour, including nervous system regulation, belief systems, and the relationship people have with themselves.

Smoking Rewired was developed from this perspective.

Rather than approaching smoking as a standalone habit, Sally works with it as part of a wider system involving emotional regulation, conditioning, and identity. This allows change to happen in a way that feels more natural, supported, and sustainable.

This is a dedicated programme within her practice and it draws on years of experience helping clients shift ingrained patterns in areas such as anxiety, compulsive behaviours, and self-sabotage.

Sally is currently working with clients using this structured approach and continues to refine the process in real time, ensuring it remains responsive, attuned, and effective.

Her work is known for being calm, grounded, and deeply personalised creating a space where change is not forced, but allowed.
