Anxiety is like no other...
The day starts feeling like there's a knot in your stomach and a vice in your head. The responsibilities, the fears and the unease make you feel nauseous and breathless.
Thoughts of giving that zoom talk, going to the supermarket and instructing your cleaner on how to clean the shower, all feel too much. To top it all off, you know that you're relatively privileged which makes you hate yourself even more for not coping.
Most of the time you hide it well but occasionally it all gets too much and you have to retreat from the world, cancelling plans and wondering why on earth people actually want to be your friend.
The voice of self loathing gets louder, as you take a nose dive into a take away because you're too exhausted to cook the food you just bought.
In the middle of the night you're woken from your slumber by your thumping chest and you reach for the beta blockers to give you half a chance of falling asleep before it all starts again the next day.
